Hi my name is Aaron and I am an autistic author, educator, and researcher of psychedelic medicines.

I was diagnosed with autism at the age of 23. I received my first psychedelic at the age of 27. And in the time that has transpired since my first psychedelic session, I’ve strived to continue to learn and grow through ongoing engagement with psilocybin, LSD, and MDMA, as well as through the reception of some thousands of second-hand reports that other autistic individuals have shared with me.

Over the years, my experiences with psychedelics have helped me to better understand my neurology, my identity, as well as my relationships and the context within which they exist. My research and experiences have likewise helped me to expand my understandings to the point at which I’ve been able to generate three books focused on this critical intersection — “Autism On Acid”, “Autistic Psychedelic”, and “Introduction to Psychedelic Autism” — in addition to co-founding the Autistic Psychedelic Community, an online hub for autistic individuals, their family members, and the professionals who seek to support them amidst their intentional explorations with psychedelic medicines.

In the time that’s passed since I helped to establish the Autistic Psychedelic Community in March of 2020, I’ve gone on to serve as an autism-focused psychedelic research co-author for University College London, a diversity committee member for the American Psychedelic Practitioners Association, and the lead instructor for the presently enrolling “Introduction To Psychedelic Autism” online course offered through AutisticPsychedelic.com. I am also a neurodiversity-affirming lecturer for Alma Institute and SoundMind institute — two of Oregon’s very first legal, M109-compliant psilocybin facilitation training programs — and I continue to contribute to progressive drug education reform by serving as an expert advisor and consultant for the development of a harm-reduction-focused program known as A.D.A.P.T. (Autistic Drug Abuse Prevention Training), which recently received generous grant funding from the Organization of Autism Research (OAR).

More recently, I’ve been asked to be a co-author on two additional research studies investigating the intersection of psychedelics and autism. This will involve one survey study, and one psilocybin for depression study. I’m honored to continue to be a part of these foundational explorations, and will be sure to share the findings in time.

I could go on for a while but I’ll take pause and invite you to connect with me, anytime.

If you’re visiting this page and you have any additional questions for me, or if you think it would be helpful for you or someone you know to speak directly with me in greater depth over Zoom, please send me an email to coordinate a time. Similarly, if you are a member of the press or an event organizer seeking to schedule me to appear in your publication or event, please submit your inquiry via the link below. I’ve done a lot of diligence to put most of this information in a format that anyone can approach and understand. With Gratitude,

— Aaron Paul Orsini
